Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Louis Meintjes

Louis Meintjes, born on February twenty-first, nineteen ninety-two, is a retired South African sport cyclist renowned for his unique climbing style. He last competed for the UCI WorldTeam Intermarché–Wanty, where he made a significant mark in the cycling world.

Meintjes achieved notable success in his career, winning the South African National Road Race Championships in two thousand fourteen. His impressive performances in grand tours include finishing eighth overall in the Tour de France on three occasions: in two thousand sixteen, two thousand seventeen, and two thousand twenty-two. Additionally, he secured a tenth-place finish at the two thousand fifteen Vuelta a España and celebrated a stage victory at the two thousand twenty-two edition of the race.

Known for his unconventional approach to climbing, Meintjes often positioned himself at the back of the peloton, overtaking competitors as they struggled on ascents. This strategy allowed him to stay with the leaders' group until the later stages of races, earning him the nickname 'El Revisor' or 'The Ticket Inspector' among Spanish commentators, who admired his ability to conduct a roll call during the toughest climbs.
