Louis-Philippe Normand

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Louis-Philippe Normand

Louis-Philippe Normand, born on September twenty-first, eighteen sixty-three, in Trois-Rivières, Canada East, was a distinguished Canadian physician and politician. He was the son of Télesphore-Eusèbe Normand and Alphonsine Giroux. After completing his Doctor of Medicine at Université Laval in eighteen eighty-six, he embarked on a career as a practicing physician while also serving as the mayor of Trois-Rivières.

In nineteen eleven, Normand ventured into federal politics, running as the Conservative candidate for the House of Commons in the Quebec riding of Three Rivers and St. Maurice, though he faced defeat in that election. His political journey continued, and in September nineteen twenty-one, he was appointed President of the Privy Council in Arthur Meighen's cabinet. However, he was again unsuccessful in the federal election held later that year in December.

In nineteen twenty-two, Normand's contributions to the medical field were recognized when he was appointed President of the Medical Council of Canada. His legacy extends beyond his professional achievements; he married Graziella Beaulieu and together they raised nine children.

In nineteen sixteen, a geographic township in the Mékinac Regional County Municipality was named in his honor, which subsequently lent its name to a lake and the Lac-Normand unorganized territory, ensuring that his impact on the region would be remembered for generations to come.
