Louis-Philippe Picard

Louis-Philippe Picard, born on August twelfth, nineteen ninety-nine, in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, was a multifaceted individual whose career spanned law, politics, and diplomacy. He began his academic journey at the Quebec Seminary, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in nineteen twenty. Following this, he graduated from Université Laval in nineteen twenty-three with a law degree and furthered his education at The Hague Academy of International Law.

Picard's professional life commenced with his commission to practice law in Quebec in nineteen twenty-four. He also made his mark as a newspaper reporter, covering court systems for notable publications such as L'Évenement and Le Soleil. His legal expertise and journalistic skills laid a strong foundation for his subsequent political career.

In nineteen forty, Picard was elected to the House of Commons of Canada as a member of the Liberal Party, representing the Bellechasse riding. He was re-elected in nineteen forty-five, nineteen forty-nine, and nineteen fifty-three, showcasing his popularity and dedication to public service. However, in August nineteen fifty-five, he resigned from his parliamentary role to accept an appointment as Canada's ambassador to Argentina, a position he held until the following year.

Tragically, Louis-Philippe Picard passed away in Quebec City on May twenty-second, nineteen fifty-nine, due to coronary thrombosis. His legacy as a lawyer, politician, and diplomat continues to be remembered in Canadian history.
