Louise Catherine Breslau

Louise Catherine Breslau, born on December sixth, eighteen fifty-six, was a talented painter, pastellist, and lithographer who made her mark in the art world. Originally from Germany, she moved to Switzerland, where her artistic journey began during a challenging period of chronic asthma that kept her bedridden. To pass the time, she took up drawing, which would eventually lead her to a lifelong passion for art.

Her formal education in art took place at the prestigious Académie Julian in Paris, a hub for aspiring artists.
