She was the daughter of Louis III de Bourbon, Prince of Condé, and Louise Françoise de Bourbon, a legitimized daughter of King Louis XIV and his renowned mistress, Madame de Montespan.

In her lifetime, Louise Élisabeth became the wife of Louis Armand II de Bourbon, Prince of Conti. Her influence at court was notable, particularly when she introduced Madame de Pompadour to King Louis XV, marking a significant moment in the cultural landscape of the French court.

Louise Élisabeth held the title of Duchess of Étampes, which she inherited following the death of her aunt, Marie Anne de Bourbon, Dowager Duchess of Vendôme.
