Louise Marie Adélaïde de Bourbon, Duchess of Orléans

Louise Marie Adélaïde de Bourbon, born on the thirteenth of March in the year seventeen fifty-three, was a prominent figure in the French aristocracy. As the daughter of Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, Duke of Penthièvre, and Princess Maria Teresa d'Este, she was born into a lineage of considerable wealth and influence.

Upon the untimely death of her brother, Louis Alexandre, Prince of Lamballe, Louise Marie Adélaïde ascended to the status of the wealthiest heiress in France, a title she held just before the tumultuous events of the French Revolution. Her fortune and noble connections positioned her as a significant player in the shifting dynamics of French society.

In a notable union, she married Louis Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, who would later be infamously known as Philippe Égalité, a regicide during the Revolution. Together, they had several children, including Louis Philippe I, who would become the last king of France, further intertwining her legacy with the history of the nation.

Louise Marie Adélaïde was also sister-in-law to Marie Thérèse Louise, Princess of Lamballe, and she ultimately became the last surviving member of the Bourbon-Penthièvre family, marking the end of an era in French aristocracy.
