Louise Mushikiwabo, born on May twenty-second, nineteen sixty-one, is a prominent Rwandan politician and minister, currently serving as the fourth Secretary General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). Her career has been marked by significant contributions to Rwandan diplomacy and international relations.
Before her election as Secretary General on October twelfth, two thousand eighteen, at the Summit of Francophonie in Yerevan, Armenia, Mushikiwabo held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Rwanda from two thousand nine to two thousand eighteen. Her tenure in this role was characterized by a commitment to enhancing Rwanda's global presence and fostering international partnerships.
In addition to her role as Foreign Minister, she has also served as the Government Spokesperson and previously held the position of Minister of Information. Her extensive experience in government has equipped her with a deep understanding of both domestic and international issues.
In November two thousand twenty-two, Mushikiwabo was re-elected for a four-year term as Secretary General of the OIF, further solidifying her influence in promoting the French language and culture worldwide.
