Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Luc Thériault

Luc Thériault, born on January thirty-first, nineteen sixty, is a prominent Canadian politician and academic known for his contributions to both the Parti Québécois and the Bloc Québécois. His political journey began when he was elected as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec, representing the Masson electoral district from two thousand three to two thousand seven. During this time, he established himself as a significant figure in Quebec politics.

In two thousand fifteen, Thériault transitioned to federal politics, winning a seat in the Canadian House of Commons for Montcalm as a member of the Bloc Québécois. His leadership skills were recognized when he served as the Bloc Québécois House Leader from two thousand fifteen until two thousand seventeen, and he played a vital role as the party's representative on the Special Committee on Electoral Reform.

However, in February two thousand eighteen, Thériault, along with six other Bloc MPs, chose to resign from the caucus to sit as an independent MP, citing disagreements with the leadership style of Martine Ouellet. Despite this, he rejoined the Bloc Québécois caucus in September of the same year, reaffirming his commitment to the party.

Since two thousand twenty-one, Thériault has taken on the role of critic for health, medical aid in dying, and drug licensing within the Bloc Québécois Shadow Cabinet. His dedication to public service is further exemplified by his sponsorship of the private member's bill, An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act (supply management), known as Bill C-282, in two thousand twenty-two.
