Luca Giordano

Luca Giordano, born on October eighteenth, sixteen thirty-four, was a prominent Italian painter and printmaker renowned for his contributions to the late-Baroque movement. His artistic journey began in Naples, where he quickly became one of the most celebrated figures of the Neapolitan Baroque, creating a vast array of works that included altarpieces, mythological scenes, and elaborate fresco cycles adorning both palaces and churches.

Giordano's style marked a significant departure from the darker tones characteristic of early seventeenth-century Neapolitan art, as exemplified by Caravaggio and Jusepe de Ribera.
