Luca Pacioli

Luca Bartolomeo de Pacioli, born around 1445 in Borgo Sansepolcro, Tuscany, was a prominent Italian mathematician and Franciscan friar. His contributions to the field of mathematics were significant, but he is perhaps best known for his pioneering work in accounting. Pacioli's collaboration with the renowned artist Leonardo da Vinci further solidified his place in the annals of history.

Often referred to as the father of accounting and bookkeeping, Pacioli was the first to publish a comprehensive work on the double-entry system of bookkeeping on the European continent. His seminal text laid the groundwork for modern accounting practices and has influenced generations of accountants and economists.
