Lucie Blue Tremblay

Lucie Blue Tremblay, born in nineteen fifty-eight, is a celebrated Canadian folk singer-songwriter whose musical journey began in her childhood. She first took to the stage as a drummer in her mother's five-piece band, showcasing her early talent and passion for music. As she grew, Tremblay self-taught herself to play the guitar and piano, expanding her musical repertoire.

Her breakthrough came in nineteen eighty-four at the Festival de la Chanson de Granby, where she garnered three prestigious awards: the Singer-songwriter Award, the Press Award, and the Public Award. This recognition catapulted her into the vibrant Quebec music scene, leading to numerous appearances on Canadian television and CBC radio in the years that followed.

Tremblay made her U.S. debut in nineteen eighty-five at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival, performing a duet with fellow Canadian artist Ferron. The following year, she released her debut album through Olivia Records, which was honored as one of the Top Ten Albums of the Year by the Boston Globe, solidifying her place in the music industry.

In addition to her musical accomplishments, Tremblay's legacy includes the establishment of the Frank-Tremblay Safe College Scholarship at Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts, named in her honor and that of Congressman Barney Frank. From two thousand five to two thousand ten, she collaborated with Lavender Visions Productions and P.O.P. Productions to promote breast health education across the U.S. and Canada, traveling over ninety-two thousand miles in a motor coach. Her efforts culminated in the production of an educational music video on breast self-examinations, further demonstrating her commitment to important social causes.
