Lucius Mummius Achaicus

Lucius Mummius Achaicus, born in one hundred ninety-two BC, was a prominent Roman statesman and military leader. His ascent to the consulship in the year one hundred forty-six BC, alongside Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus, marked a significant milestone as he became the first in his family to achieve this esteemed rank, earning him the title of novus homo.

Mummius is best remembered for his decisive victories over the Achaean League, which culminated in the destruction of the illustrious city of Corinth.
