Ludmila Formanová

Ludmila Formanová, born on January 2, 1974, in Čáslav, is a distinguished former Czech middle-distance runner renowned for her exceptional talent in the 800 metres.

In 1999, she made headlines by breaking the impressive winning streak of Maria de Lurdes Mutola at the World Indoor Championships, where she clinched victory with a championship record time of one minute fifty-six point ninety seconds.

Later that year, on August 11, she achieved her personal best, clocking in at one minute fifty-six point fifty-six seconds, and further solidified her legacy by winning the World Championships on August 24.
