Luigi Fagioli

Luigi Fagioli, born on June ninth, nineteen ninety-eight, was a remarkable Italian racing driver whose career spanned from the late 1920s to the early 1950s. He made his mark in Grand Prix motor racing, competing fiercely from nineteen twenty-eight to nineteen forty-nine, and later transitioned to Formula One, where he raced from nineteen fifty to nineteen fifty-one.

Known by the moniker 'the Abruzzi Robber', Fagioli achieved a historic milestone by winning the French Grand Prix in nineteen fifty-one at the age of fifty-three, making him the oldest driver to ever win a Formula One Grand Prix. His illustrious career also saw him finish as the runner-up in the European Drivers' Championship in nineteen thirty-five while driving for Mercedes.

Fagioli holds the unique distinction of being the only Formula One Grand Prix winner born in the nineteenth century.
