Luke Ayling

Luke Ayling, born on August 25, 1991, is an accomplished English professional footballer known for his versatility on the pitch. Primarily a right-back, he also excels as a centre-back, showcasing his adaptability in defense. Currently, he plays for EFL Championship club Middlesbrough, where he continues to make significant contributions to the team's success.

Ayling's football journey began at the young age of eight when he joined Arsenal's youth academy. His talent shone through as he was part of the Arsenal youth team that achieved a remarkable double in the 2008–09 season. In July 2009, he took a significant step in his career by signing his first professional contract with the club.

In March 2010, Ayling was loaned to Yeovil Town, where he made four appearances. His time at Yeovil proved fruitful, leading to a permanent move at the end of the season. After four successful seasons with the club, he transitioned to Bristol City, where he played until 2016. His career took another leap when he signed with Leeds United, becoming a key player as the team clinched the EFL Championship title in the 2019–20 season under the guidance of manager Marcelo Bielsa.

In January 2024, Ayling joined Middlesbrough on loan, and by May 2024, he made the move permanent, further solidifying his place in the competitive landscape of English football.
