His remarkable talent was showcased in two thousand twelve when he clinched the Australian National Time Trial Championships. This victory set the stage for an even more impressive achievement the following year.

In two thousand thirteen, Durbridge made history by winning both the time trial and the Australian National Road Race Championships, becoming the first rider to secure both titles in the same year at an elite level. This feat was previously accomplished by Jonathan Hall in nineteen ninety-seven, but not at the elite level.
