Lydia Zvereva

Lydia Zvereva, born in 1890, was a trailblazing Russian aviation pioneer who made history as the first woman in Russia to earn a pilot's license. Her remarkable achievements in aviation, although brief, left an indelible mark on the field.

Despite her untimely passing at the young age of twenty-five, Zvereva's passion for flying propelled her into the spotlight. She participated in numerous air shows across Eastern Europe, showcasing her skills and determination as a female aviator in a male-dominated industry.

In addition to her flying career, Lydia Zvereva partnered with her husband, Vladimir Victorovich Slusarenko, to establish an aircraft manufacturing factory in Riga. This venture not only highlighted her entrepreneurial spirit but also contributed to the advancement of aviation technology in the region.
