Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Lyle Green

Lyle Green, born on February 4, 1976, is a former Canadian football player who made a significant impact in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a fullback. He began his football journey at the University of Toledo before being drafted by the BC Lions in the first round of the 2001 CFL draft, where he was selected third overall. Known for his versatility and strength, Green donned the number 28 jersey during his time with the Lions.

Throughout his career, Green achieved notable milestones, particularly during the 2002 CFL season when he recorded a career-high of three rushing touchdowns and 343 rushing yards, marking his only season with over one hundred rushing yards. His contributions continued in the 2004 season, where he set a personal best with 22 receptions and accumulated 248 receiving yards. By 2005, he was a key player for the Lions, starting all eighteen games and achieving a career-high of 261 receiving yards, including his first receiving touchdown.

Despite facing challenges in the 2006 season, where he experienced career lows in both rushing and receiving yards, Green played a crucial role in helping the Lions secure victory in the 94th Grey Cup. In 2009, he transitioned to the slotback position under head coach Wally Buono, a move aimed at accommodating younger talent while still leveraging Green's experience.

After a successful tenure with the Lions, where he became the fourteenth player in all-time games played for the franchise with 161 games, Green was released in 2010 due to the emergence of new talent in the backfield. However, he made a comeback in July 2011 by signing with the Calgary Stampeders, where he continued to showcase his skills, contributing with three special teams tackles over thirteen games.
