Lyndon Rush

Lyndon Rush, born on November twenty-fourth, nineteen eighty, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, is a retired Canadian bobsledder who made a significant impact in the sport since his debut in two thousand four. Before embracing the world of bobsleigh, Rush spent five years playing Canadian football at the University of Saskatchewan. Initially starting as a brakeman, he transitioned to driving after suffering a hamstring injury, showcasing his adaptability and determination.

Rush's career highlights include winning a bronze medal in the four-man event at the two thousand ten Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, British Columbia. He also earned a silver medal in the mixed bobsleigh-skeleton team event at the two thousand eight FIBT World Championships in Altenberg, Germany. His breakthrough moment came during the two thousand nine to ten Bobsleigh World Cup season, where he clinched victory in the opening four-man event in Park City, Utah, and secured a third-place finish in Cesana, Italy, solidifying his ranking as one of the top competitors in the four-man event.

In addition to his Olympic success, Rush formed a partnership with Jesse Lumsden at the start of the two thousand twelve season, leading to their first World Cup Gold medal in the two-man event on February third, two thousand twelve. Despite facing challenges, including a stomach virus during the World Championships, Rush's resilience shone through as he claimed a silver medal, finishing just one hundredth of a second behind the leader. The duo's hard work culminated in winning the overall World Cup two-man bobsleigh title in two thousand thirteen.

After competing in the two thousand fourteen Winter Olympics in Sochi, Rush decided to retire from professional bobsleigh. He has since taken on the role of assistant coach for WinSport Academy's bobsleigh program, dedicating his time to training the next generation of bobsledders. Outside of his athletic career, Rush is a devoted family man, married to Krysta since two thousand three, and they have three daughters and a son. The family resides in Sylvan Lake, Alberta, where Rush also works as a real estate agent.
