Lyndsay Belisle

Lyndsay Belisle, born on October first, nineteen seventy-seven, is a distinguished retired amateur Canadian freestyle wrestler who made her mark in the women's flyweight category. Throughout her impressive career, she trained full-time at the Burnaby Mountain Wrestling Club in Burnaby, British Columbia, under the guidance of her personal coach, Mike Jones.

Belisle gained international recognition at the 2003 Pan American Games held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where she showcased her talent by securing a silver medal in the women's forty-eight kilogram division. In a fierce competition, she faced U.S. wrestler Patricia Miranda, ultimately succumbing to a powerful pin.

Her remarkable journey continued as she qualified for the inaugural women's wrestling event at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, competing in the forty-eight kilogram class. Belisle's path to the Olympics included a significant victory over Mongolia's Tsogtbazaryn Enkhjargal at the Olympic Qualification Tournament in Madrid, Spain. However, her Olympic experience concluded with two losses, placing her eleventh in the final standings.

In two thousand six, Belisle further solidified her legacy by earning a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Guangzhou, China, competing in the fifty-one kilogram division. She faced Japan's Hitomi Sakamoto in the final match, demonstrating her resilience and skill on the world stage.
