Lynn Fontanne

Lynn Fontanne, born on December sixth, eighteen eighty-seven, was a distinguished English actress whose career spanned stage, film, and television. She began her journey in the vibrant theater scene of the West End before making her mark in the United States. In nineteen twenty-two, Fontanne married the American actor Alfred Lunt, and together they formed one of the most iconic partnerships in theatrical history. Known as 'The Lunts', they captivated audiences with their stylish performances in a variety of productions over the next four decades. Their collaboration included notable works by playwrights such as Noël Coward, S. N. Behrman, and Terence Rattigan, as well as romantic plays by Robert E. Sherwood.
