Lynndie England, born on November 8, 1982, is a former soldier of the United States Army Reserve, known for her involvement in a significant military scandal during the Iraq War. She served as a member of the 372nd Military Police Company, which became infamous for the abuse of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad.

In 2005, England was one of eleven military personnel convicted for war crimes related to the mistreatment of prisoners. The revelations of the abuses shocked the world and raised serious questions about military conduct and accountability during wartime.

Following her conviction, Lynndie England was sentenced to three years in prison and received a dishonorable discharge from the military. She was incarcerated from September twenty-seventh, two thousand five, until her release on parole on March first, two thousand seven.
