Macklemore

Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, known to the world as Macklemore, was born on June 19, 1983, in Seattle, Washington. He embarked on his musical journey in 2000 as an independent artist, releasing a series of projects including 'Open Your Eyes' in 2000, 'The Language of My World' in 2005, and 'The Unplanned Mixtape' in 2009. His unique style and dedication to his craft quickly set him apart in the music scene.

Macklemore achieved international fame through his collaboration with producer Ryan Lewis, forming the duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis from 2009 to 2016. Their breakout single, 'Thrift Shop,' featuring Wanz, made history by becoming the first self-released song to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in over a decade. This was followed by another chart-topping hit, 'Can't Hold Us,' featuring Ray Dalton, making them the first duo to have their first two singles both peak at number one.

Their debut studio album, 'The Heist,' released in 2012, peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 and garnered critical acclaim. At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, Macklemore and Lewis took home four prestigious awards, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album for 'The Heist.' The duo continued to make waves with their second album, 'This Unruly Mess I've Made,' released in 2016.

In June 2017, Macklemore made a significant return to the music industry with the release of 'Glorious,' featuring Skylar Grey, marking his first major single produced without Lewis since his rise to fame. He followed this with his second solo studio album, 'Gemini,' in September of the same year, which also peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. Most recently, on February 24, 2023, he released his third album, 'Ben,' which reached number eighteen on the charts.
