Madeleine Allakariallak

Madeleine Allakariallak, born in nineteen sixty-five, is a prominent Canadian Inuk musician and television journalist. She has made significant contributions to the cultural landscape of Canada, particularly through her work in music and media.

As a former member of the Inuit throat singing duo Tudjaat, Allakariallak showcased her rich cultural heritage and artistic talent. Her collaboration with Phoebe Atagotaaluk, who is also her cousin, brought traditional Inuit music to a broader audience, celebrating their roots and traditions.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Allakariallak served as the host of the weekly newsmagazine series APTN National News Contact from two thousand five to two thousand seven. This role on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network allowed her to highlight important issues affecting Indigenous communities across Canada.
