Magdalene of Saxony

Magdalene of Saxony, born on March seventh, fifteen oh seven, was a prominent aristocrat who held the titles of Margravine of Brandenburg and Electoral Princess of Brandenburg. She was the daughter of George the Bearded, Duke of Saxony, and his wife Barbara, linking her to a lineage of significant historical figures.

Her maternal grandparents were Casimir IV of Poland and Elisabeth of Austria, the latter being a descendant of the Jagiellonians and a queen of Poland. This connection to royal bloodlines positioned Magdalena within a complex web of European nobility, as her grandmother had once claimed the Duchy of Luxembourg.

On November sixth, fifteen twenty-four, Magdalena married Joachim II Hector, her second cousin's son and the future Elector of Brandenburg. Their union produced several notable offspring, including John George, who would also become Elector of Brandenburg, and Barbara of Brandenburg, Duchess of Brieg.

Despite her significant contributions to her family's legacy, Magdalena passed away before Joachim ascended to the electorate. Following her death, Joachim II Hector married Hedwig Jagiellon, further intertwining the royal families of Europe.
