Magne Furuholmen

Magne Furuholmen, born on November first, nineteen sixty-two, is a multifaceted Norwegian musician and visual artist, widely recognized as the keyboardist of the iconic synth-pop band A-ha. Known by his stage name Mags, he has co-written numerous chart-topping hits, including the legendary 'Take On Me', 'Stay on These Roads', and 'Manhattan Skyline'. A-ha has achieved remarkable success, selling over fifty million albums globally, solidifying their place in music history.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Furuholmen has made significant contributions to the visual arts. His artwork has been showcased in solo exhibitions across Norway, the United Kingdom, and various European countries. His pieces are held in esteemed private and public collections, including The Norwegian State Archives and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, reflecting his impact on the art world.

Furuholmen's artistic journey reached new heights in two thousand sixteen when he completed his largest commission to date, the 'Imprints' ceramic sculpture park in Fornebu, near Oslo. This monumental work stands as a testament to his creativity and dedication to the arts. In recognition of his significant contributions to Norwegian music and his international success, he was honored as a Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav by King Harald.

In two thousand seventeen, Furuholmen was nominated as one of five new honorary doctors by the University of Agder, celebrating the university's tenth anniversary. This accolade was awarded for his remarkable artistic achievements, further highlighting his influence and legacy in both music and art.
