Mahammad Amin Rasulzade

Mahammad Amin Rasulzade, born on January thirty-first, eighteen eighty-four, was a prominent Azerbaijani politician, writer, journalist, and translator. He is best known as the head of the Azerbaijani National Council and is widely regarded as the founder of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in nineteen eighteen, earning him the title of the father of Azerbaijan's statehood.

Rasulzade's impactful words, "Bir kərə yüksələn bayraq, bir daha enməz!" which translates to "The flag once raised shall never fall!", became a rallying cry for the independence movement in Azerbaijan during the early twentieth century. His vision and leadership inspired many in the quest for national sovereignty.

Throughout his life, Rasulzade faced significant challenges, including multiple exiles from both Turkey and Iran. His political journey was marked by resilience and determination, as he navigated the complexities of regional politics.

During World War II, Rasulzade sought to forge a strategic alliance with Nazi Germany, aiming to secure support for an independent Azerbaijan. This controversial move highlights the lengths to which he was willing to go in pursuit of his nation's autonomy.
