Mahamudu Bawumia

Mahamudu Bawumia, born on October seventh, nineteen sixty-three, is a prominent Ghanaian politician and economist. He served as the seventh vice president of Ghana from January seventh, two thousand seventeen, to January seventh, two thousand twenty-five, under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo. His extensive experience in governance and economics has made him a significant figure in Ghana's political landscape.

Before his vice presidency, Bawumia was the New Patriotic Party's nominee for president in the upcoming two thousand twenty-four general election. His political journey began when he ran as the NPP vice-presidential candidate in the two thousand twelve general elections. Notably, he played a crucial role as the lead witness for the petitioners in the landmark two thousand twelve and two thousand thirteen Presidential Election Petition, which contested the declaration of John Mahama as the election's winner.

Academically, Bawumia holds a PhD in Economics from Simon Fraser University, which has equipped him with a robust understanding of economic policies and their implications for national development. His background as a former central banker further enhances his expertise in financial matters, making him a key player in shaping Ghana's economic strategies.
