Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, born on January 12, 1917, was a prominent philosopher, writer, and spiritual teacher, best known for founding Transcendental Meditation (TM). His journey began after earning a degree in physics from Allahabad University in 1942, when he became a disciple of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math.
