Her work often highlights the struggles faced by women, children, and youth, tackling themes such as war, homelessness, drug addiction, child abuse, and the plight of refugees.

Honarian's expertise and contributions to the film industry have led to her participation as a jury member at numerous prestigious film festivals. Notably, she served on the jury for the International Emmy Awards in New York from two thousand ten to two thousand seventeen, and was involved with the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television in two thousand sixteen and two thousand seventeen.
