Mahnaz Afkhami

Mahnaz Afkhami, born on February second, nineteen forty-one, is a prominent Iranian women's rights activist and politician. She served in the Cabinet of Iran from nineteen seventy-six to nineteen seventy-eight, holding the position of Minister of Women's Affairs in the pre-Revolution government. Since nineteen seventy-nine, she has lived in exile in the United States, continuing her advocacy for women's rights on a global scale.

As the founder and president of the Women's Learning Partnership (WLP) and the executive director of the Foundation for Iranian Studies, Afkhami has dedicated her life to advancing the status of women. Her work has spanned several international non-governmental organizations, focusing on women's rights in Iran and beyond. Her commitment to this cause has made her a key figure in the international women's movement.

Afkhami has lectured extensively and published numerous works on various topics, including women's human rights, leadership, technology, and the status of women in Muslim-majority societies.
