Mahua Moitra

Mahua Moitra, born on January first, nineteen seventy-six, is a prominent Indian politician and former investment banker. She gained recognition for her dynamic and often controversial speeches in the Indian Parliament, where she represented the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party. Moitra first entered the Lok Sabha after winning the 2019 Indian general election from the Krishnanagar constituency, serving until her expulsion in December twenty twenty-three.

Before her political career, Moitra was an investment banker at JPMorgan Chase, where she honed her skills in finance and strategy. Her political journey began in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, where she represented Karimpur from twenty sixteen to twenty nineteen. During her time in the assembly, she also held the positions of general secretary and national spokesperson for the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).

In November twenty twenty-three, Moitra was appointed as the AITC District President of Krishnanagar (Nadia North), marking a significant step in her political career. Despite facing challenges, including her disqualification from the Lok Sabha due to a cash-for-query case, she demonstrated resilience and was re-elected to parliament in the twenty twenty-four Indian general election.
