Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska

Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, born on May fifth, nineteen fifty-seven, is a prominent Polish politician, film producer, and sociologist. Currently serving as the Marshal of the Senate, she has made significant contributions to Polish politics, including her tenure as the Marshal of the Sejm from June twenty-fifth to November eleventh, two thousand fifteen. During this period, she was the first woman to chair both houses of the Polish Parliament, a notable achievement in the country's legislative history.

Her political career includes serving in ministerial roles, such as Secretary of State in the Second Cabinet of Donald Tusk from two thousand twelve to two thousand fourteen, and in the Cabinet of Ewa Kopacz from two thousand fourteen to two thousand fifteen. Additionally, she acted as Press Spokeswoman for both cabinets in two thousand fourteen and two thousand fifteen, showcasing her versatility and commitment to public service.

In the two thousand nineteen Polish parliamentary election, Kidawa-Błońska was the Civic Platform nominee for Prime Minister, although she was ultimately defeated by the incumbent, Mateusz Morawiecki of the Law and Justice party. Later that year, she was selected as the Civic Platform's candidate for the Presidency of Poland in the two thousand twenty presidential election, but she resigned from her candidacy on May fifteenth, two thousand twenty.
