Malik Ghulam Muhammad

Malik Ghulam Muhammad, born on April twentieth, nineteen ninety-five, was a prominent Pakistani politician and economist who made significant contributions to the country's governance and economic framework. He served as the third Governor-General of Pakistan from nineteen fifty-one to nineteen fifty-five, a period marked by political upheaval and constitutional challenges.

Educated at the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University, Malik began his career in the Indian Civil Service as a chartered accountant within the Indian Railway Accounts Service. His expertise led him to the Ministry of Finance in nineteen forty-six, where he worked under the leadership of Liaquat Ali Khan. Following the creation of Pakistan in nineteen forty-seven, he became the nation’s first Finance Minister, playing a crucial role in drafting the initial five-year plans aimed at revitalizing the national economy.

In the wake of Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan's assassination in nineteen fifty-one, Malik was appointed Governor-General by Sir Khawaja Nazimuddin. His tenure was characterized by a 'constitutional coup' in nineteen fifty-three, where he dismissed Nazimuddin's government and dissolved the Constituent Assembly in nineteen fifty-four, actions that were intended to restore stability amidst nationwide unrest.

Despite his efforts, Malik's legacy is often viewed critically by historians, who argue that his actions contributed to political intrigue and undermined civilian control over the military. His health deteriorated, leading to his resignation in nineteen fifty-five, after which he faced a brief struggle with illness before passing away in nineteen fifty-six.
