Mamta Kulkarni, born on April twentieth, nineteen seventy-two, is an Indian former actress and model who made a significant mark in Hindi cinema. Renowned for her captivating performances, she starred in several commercially successful films during the nineties, including Waqt Hamara Hai, Krantiveer, Karan Arjun, and Sabse Bada Khiladi. Her role in Aashiq Awara earned her the prestigious Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year in nineteen ninety-four, solidifying her status as one of the leading actresses of her time.
Despite her success, Mamta chose to step away from the film industry after her appearance in Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum. Following a long and controversial absence from the public eye, she re-emerged in twenty twenty-five, announcing her sanyas and becoming Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. This significant event was marked by the presence of Acharaya Mahamandaleshvar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, where she performed various rituals and adopted the name Yamai Mamta Nand Giri.
However, her journey took another turn in January twenty twenty-five when Rishi Ajai Das, the founder of Kinnar Akhara, expelled her from the akhara alongside activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. This decision was reportedly due to alleged connections with the underworld and gangster Dawood Ibrahim, leading to further controversy surrounding her life.
