Manuel Merino

His political journey saw him serve as the President of Congress from March sixteenth, twenty twenty, until his resignation on November fifteenth, twenty twenty.

Merino's ascent to the presidency was precipitated by the impeachment of President Martín Vizcarra on November ninth, twenty twenty, under the controversial grounds of 'moral incapacity.' This event triggered widespread protests across the nation, reflecting the public's discontent with the political climate.

On November tenth, following the constitutional line of succession, Merino assumed the presidency. However, his tenure was marred by turmoil, culminating in his resignation just five days later, after two fatalities occurred during the protests. Polls indicated that a staggering ninety-four percent of the Peruvian populace disapproved of his presidency.
