Manuel Urrutia Lleó

Manuel Urrutia Lleó, born on December eighth, nineteen oh one, was a prominent figure in Cuban politics and law. As a liberal lawyer, he dedicated his career to advocating for justice and democracy in a tumultuous political landscape. Urrutia emerged as a vocal opponent of the Gerardo Machado regime, and later, he stood against the authoritarian rule of Fulgencio Batista during the 1950s.

His commitment to the revolutionary cause culminated in his appointment as president of the revolutionary government in nineteen fifty-nine. Urrutia's presidency, however, was short-lived, lasting only seven months. His tenure was marked by significant ideological clashes with revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, which ultimately led to his resignation.

Following his departure from the presidency, Urrutia chose to emigrate to the United States, seeking a new beginning away from the political strife of his homeland. His legacy as a lawyer and politician remains a testament to his dedication to the principles of democracy and justice in Cuba.
