Marcelinho, born Marcelo Nascimento da Costa on August 24, 1984, is a distinguished former professional footballer who made a significant impact in the world of football as a midfielder. His journey began in Brazil, where he honed his skills as a youth player at São Paulo before embarking on a career that would see him play for several clubs, including Cascavel, Santacruzense, São Caetano, and Catanduvense.

In 2008, Marcelinho took a bold step by signing with Al-Nasr Dubai in the UAE Pro-League, marking the beginning of an international chapter in his career. After a brief return to Brazil with Mogi Mirim, he joined Bragantino, and in May 2011, he made a pivotal move to Ludogorets. His time at Ludogorets was nothing short of remarkable, as he contributed to the club's dominance in Bulgarian football, winning nine consecutive league titles from 2012 to 2020, along with two Bulgarian Cups and four Bulgarian Supercups.
