Marco Calliari

Marco Calliari, a talented singer-songwriter, was born in Quebec to Italian parents. His musical journey began in 1989 when he co-founded the thrash metal band Anonymus, alongside Carlos Araya and the Souto brothers, Daniel and Oscar. This early experience laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in the music industry.

In 2003, Calliari embarked on a solo career that has since produced three remarkable albums: Che la vita, Mia dolce vita, and Al faro est. His debut album, Che la vita, served as a heartfelt reconnection to his Italian roots, blending elements of Italian folklore with jazz influences.

Che la vita garnered significant acclaim, earning Calliari the prestigious Galaxy award in the summer of two thousand four, presented by the CBC at a music festival in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Additionally, the album received a nomination at the Gala MIMI in two thousand five, further solidifying his place in the music scene.

As an active member of the Italian community in Montreal, Calliari has made notable contributions to the cultural landscape, including his participation in the first two editions of Ritalfest, a festival dedicated to celebrating Italian music in Quebec.
