Marco Rubio

Marco Rubio, born on May twenty-eighth, nineteen seventy-one, is a prominent American politician, attorney, and diplomat. He has served as the seventy-second United States Secretary of State since January twenty-one, twenty twenty-five, and is also the acting National Security Advisor. A member of the Republican Party, Rubio represented Florida in the U.S. Senate from two thousand eleven until twenty twenty-five.

Hailing from Miami, Florida, Rubio pursued his legal education at the University of Miami. His political career began in the 1990s as a city commissioner for West Miami. In two thousand, he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, where he later became the Republican majority leader and served as the Speaker of the Florida House from November two thousand six for two years. After reaching term limits in two thousand eight, he transitioned to academia, teaching at Florida International University.

In two thousand ten, Rubio was elected to the U.S. Senate in a competitive three-way race. He became Florida's senior senator in January two thousand nineteen and was reelected for a third term in two thousand twenty-two. In November two thousand twenty-four, President-elect Trump nominated him as Secretary of State, a position he was confirmed for unanimously.

In addition to his role as Secretary of State, Rubio was appointed acting National Security Advisor in May twenty twenty-five, marking a historic moment as he became the first Latino to hold either position. His tenure has been characterized by significant responsibilities, including acting as the Archivist of the United States and the USAID administrator during his time in office.
