Marco van Ginkel

Marco van Ginkel, born on December 1, 1992, is a former professional footballer from the Netherlands, known for his versatility as both a defensive and attacking midfielder. His journey in football began at a young age when he joined the youth ranks of Vitesse in 1999, at just six years old. After progressing through the club's youth system, he made his senior debut in 2010.

In 2013, Van Ginkel made a significant move to Chelsea for a transfer fee of approximately nine million pounds. Unfortunately, his time at Chelsea was marred by a serious knee injury that sidelined him for seven months. Despite this setback, he continued his career with several loan spells, including stints at AC Milan during the 2014-15 season, Stoke City in 2015-16, and PSV from 2016 to 2018, before returning to Vitesse.

On the international stage, Van Ginkel represented the Netherlands at various youth levels, including under-19 and under-21 teams. His senior debut came in November 2012 during a match against Germany, marking a significant milestone in his international career.
