Maret Ani

Maret Ani, born on January thirty-first, nineteen eighty-two, is a retired tennis player hailing from Estonia. She made her mark in the tennis world by becoming the top-ranked player in Estonia at the beginning of two thousand six, a title she held until it was claimed by fellow Estonian Kaia Kanepi.

Before dedicating herself to tennis, Ani was a junior basketball champion. However, at the age of fourteen, she shifted her focus entirely to tennis. Her commitment to the sport led her to move to Italy three years later, where she found sponsorship for coaching and began her professional journey.

Throughout her career, Ani received guidance from notable coaches, starting with Aita Põldma and later working with Pierfrancesco Restelli. She made her debut for the Estonia Fed Cup team in nineteen ninety-eight, marking the beginning of her contributions to Estonian tennis on an international stage.
