Maria Deraismes

Maria Deraismes, born on August seventeenth, eighteen twenty-eight, was a trailblazing French journalist, writer, and lecturer. Renowned for her fervent advocacy for women's rights, she emerged as a pivotal figure in the feminist movement of her time. Her eloquence and dedication to the cause made her a prominent orator, inspiring many to join the fight for civil and political equality.

In a groundbreaking achievement, Deraismes became the first woman to be initiated into Freemasonry in France.
