Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Marie Carmen

Marie Carmen, born Marie-Carmen Aubut on August 24, 1959, in Sainte-Foy, Quebec, is a celebrated Canadian pop singer and musical theatre actress. Her musical journey began in the early 1980s, where she was associated with bands such as Accident, Blood et Marie, and The Radio Rats. Her talent soon led her to become a backing vocalist for renowned artists like Claude Dubois and The Box.

In a significant career milestone, Marie Carmen was selected by the esteemed Luc Plamondon to portray the character of Marie-Jeanne in a revival of the iconic musical Starmania. This opportunity paved the way for her solo career, culminating in the release of her debut album, Dans la peau, in 1988. Over the years, she has released four additional studio albums and a greatest hits compilation, showcasing her evolution as an artist.

After a successful music career, Marie Carmen took a step back in the early 2000s to engage in humanitarian work in Peru. Her return to Montreal in 2005 marked a new chapter, as she performed several benefit concerts aimed at raising funds for development projects in Peru, demonstrating her commitment to social causes.

In 2020, she announced a joint concert tour titled Pour une histoire d'un soir alongside Joe Bocan and Marie Denise Pelletier. Although the tour faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it eventually launched in 2022 and received the prestigious Félix Award for Variety or Reinterpretation Concert of the Year at the 44th Félix Awards, solidifying her status in the music industry.
