Marie-Élisabeth Turgeon

Marie-Élisabeth Turgeon, born Élisabeth Turgeon on February seventh, eighteen forty, was a prominent Canadian religious sister known for her profound dedication to her faith and community. She is celebrated as the founder of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Rosary, an order that has made significant contributions to the spiritual and social fabric of Canadian society.

Throughout her life, Turgeon exemplified the virtues of compassion and service, which were central to her mission. After assuming the name Marie-Élisabeth upon entering religious life, she devoted herself to the care and education of the less fortunate, embodying the principles of her faith in every aspect of her work.

In recognition of her impactful life and the miracles attributed to her intercession, Turgeon was cleared for beatification in two thousand fourteen. This significant step in her journey toward sainthood culminated in her beatification on April twenty-sixth, two thousand fifteen, in Canada, officiated by Cardinal Angelo Amato on behalf of Pope Francis.
