Marie-Pierre Arthur

Marie-Pierre Arthur, born Marie-Pierre Fournier on December fifteenth, nineteen seventy-eight, is a talented Canadian pop singer-songwriter hailing from Grande-Vallée, Quebec. Currently based in Montreal, she has made a significant mark in the music industry, both as a solo artist and as a backing musician for renowned artists such as Karkwa, Galaxie, and Ariane Moffatt.

In two thousand nine, Arthur released her self-titled debut album, which showcased her unique sound and songwriting prowess. Her follow-up album, Aux alentours, came out in two thousand twelve and earned her a longlisted nomination for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize. Additionally, she contributed her vocal talents to Buck sixty-five's album, 20 Odd Years, further establishing her presence in the music scene.

Arthur's accolades include winning the Félix Leclerc Prize for best new singer-songwriter at the FrancoFolies in two thousand twelve, along with multiple nominations for the Prix Félix at the ADISQ awards in two thousand nine and two thousand ten. In two thousand thirteen, she was honored with an Independent Music Award for her album Aux alentours in the Pop Album category.

Her third album, Si l’aurore, was released on February sixteenth, two thousand fifteen, through Simone Records. Beyond her solo work, Arthur has also collaborated with fellow artists in the group Louve, alongside Salomé Leclerc, Amylie, and Laurence Lafond-Beaulne, showcasing her versatility and commitment to the music community.
