Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Marija Pejčinović Burić

Marija Pejčinović Burić, born on April ninth, nineteen sixty-three, is a prominent Croatian politician and political economist. She is affiliated with the centre-right Croatian Democratic Union party and has made significant contributions to Croatian politics over the years.

From two thousand seventeen to two thousand nineteen, Pejčinović Burić held the esteemed position of Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, as well as serving as the First Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia. Notably, she became the third woman to assume the role of foreign minister, following in the footsteps of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Vesna Pusić.

Her political journey includes serving as a Member of Parliament during the Sixth Assembly from two thousand eight to two thousand eleven, where she represented the sixth electoral district. This experience laid the groundwork for her later achievements in government.

On June twenty-six, two thousand nineteen, she was elected as the fourteenth Secretary General of the Council of Europe, triumphing over Belgium's foreign minister Didier Reynders with a decisive one hundred fifty-nine votes to one hundred five. Her term commenced on September eighteenth, two thousand nineteen, and is set to conclude on September eighteenth, two thousand twenty-four, when she will be succeeded by Alain Berset, the former Swiss President and Interior Minister.
