Marilyn Brain

Marilyn Brain, born on April 14, 1959, is a distinguished Canadian rower who made her mark in the world of competitive rowing. With a career spanning six years at the international level, she represented Canada in five World Championships and one Olympic Games, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Her most notable achievement came during the 1984 Summer Olympics, where she earned a silver medal in the Coxed Fours event. This remarkable feat not only highlighted her skill but also solidified her status as one of Canada's top athletes.

In addition to her Olympic success, Marilyn was a key member of the University of Victoria's Women's Eight crew, which was honored as the Team of the Year for the city of Victoria, B.C. in 1981. Her contributions to the sport were further recognized when she was named Female Athlete of the Year for Victoria in 1984.

Marilyn's legacy extends beyond her athletic accomplishments; she was ranked forty-seventh among the top one hundred Vancouver Island athletes of the twentieth century by the Times Colonist Newspaper.
