Marilyn Mazur

Marilyn Mazur, born on January eighteenth, nineteen fifty-five, is a distinguished percussionist, singer, composer, and jazz musician who has made significant contributions to the music scene. Originally from the United States, she later became a prominent figure in Denmark, where her musical journey flourished.

From nineteen seventy-five onwards, Mazur showcased her exceptional talent as a percussionist, collaborating with various groups, including the notable ensemble Six Winds alongside drummer Alex Riel. Her unique style and innovative approach to percussion have earned her recognition in the jazz community.

Although primarily an autodidact, Mazur's dedication to her craft led her to pursue formal education, culminating in a degree in percussion from the esteemed Royal Danish Academy of Music. This blend of self-taught skills and academic training has shaped her distinctive sound and artistic vision.
