Mario Kummer

Mario Kummer, born on May sixth, nineteen sixty-two, is a distinguished retired sport cyclist hailing from East Germany. His remarkable career is highlighted by his participation in the 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seoul, South Korea, where he achieved the pinnacle of success by winning a gold medal in the men's team time trial. This victory was a collaborative effort alongside his talented teammates Uwe Ampler, Jan Schur, and Maik Landsmann.

Transitioning from an amateur to a professional cyclist, Kummer dedicated himself to road cycling from nineteen ninety until nineteen ninety-eight. During this period, he not only honed his skills but also made significant contributions to the sport, establishing himself as a formidable competitor on the international stage.

After retiring from competitive cycling, Kummer shifted his focus to the managerial side of the sport. In two thousand seven, he took on the role of cycling manager for the Astana team, where he utilized his extensive experience and knowledge to guide and mentor the next generation of cyclists.
